Willesden Cycling Club

Shake off your winter torpor with these rides organised by local clubs, including our own, all within easy reach of the WCC heartland. As the title implies, the routes take you round the Chilterns

For those of you who havn’t done one before, reliability rides are traditional, early season non-competitive training events similar to an Audax ride in format. At signing-on, you decide how long it will take you to ride around the course, and if you complete the event within your chosen time band, you receive a certificate. Some of the rides are route-marked, others will provide you with a route sheet to navigate yourself around the course.

Cake etc. at the end:- no stops en-route.

SPOTY 2011 - The Contestants

The BBC SPOTY (won by some bloke called Cav) was just the warm up act for the big one….. the Bucks Herald SPOTY 2011!!! One of the Willesden CC’s finest, Mr Peter Turnbull, has been nominated as a finalist in this competition. So please vote for Peter if you can – it’s really simple all you need to do is Txt  “CBH SPORT” and “1011” and your name and address to 61500.

I’m organising some Go Race Cyclo-Cross races for novice youth riders on the following dates-

Start time will be 10:00am – Finishing around mid-day

The races will be held at Malorees Junior School, Christchurch Avenue, Kilburn NW6.

Entry fee is £2.00 for each day. Please bring some kids along. It’ll be great fun and really quite muddy. Any bike will do so long as it works and has brakes that also work. Helmets must be worn. Helpers needed. Please let me know if you can assist.

The Annual Willesden CC Christmas Party will be held this Thursday 22nd December at the Hillingdon circuit club room from 6:00pm onwards. Father Christmas will arriving at some point (subject to his lead out train of reindeers) to bring presents for all good boys and girls. Plenty fun and party games will be a core part of the evening’s entertainment.
