On Saturday four club members went down to Bentley to ride in the North Hampshire Road Club 10 mile time trial. Unfortunately a terriffic thunderstorm prevented a third of the field from starting, among them were Gill Reynolds and Ron Purdy.
Surendra Patel and Brian Moon were able to ride after the storm had passed and Surendra improved by 21 secs on his previous best time to record 25.15, a good ride after coming back from injury. Brian came home in 26.24.
Rain also swamped the Mersey Roads 24 Hours TT. The winner was Nik Gardiner with 504.2 miles completed. Willesden riders included Mel Kirkland (22nd – 415.51 miles) and Martin Lucas (26th – 407.8 miles) Gavin Gilbert unfortunately had to abandon at 18 hours.
