Willesden club member Dan Duncan-Jones has renovated an old farmhouse in Italy and is now offering it to us to rent. Called “La Casa Pietra” it is located just outside the town of Bubbio in southern Piemonte. It is approximately 45 miles from Turin and is in the middle of a triangle form by Milan, Genoa and Turin (Click on following map for larger image).
The web address is http://www.lacasapietra.co.uk/. Dan says “it’s in excellent cycling country with nice quiet windy roads and enough hills to keep Willesdenites happy.” It looks easy to reach by low cost airlines such as EasyJet (Luton – Turin) or Ryanair (Stansted – Genoa).
I think it would make an excellent base for those embarking on the Mille Miglia Audax ride next August. Rates and full contact details will be found on the web site.
