Mark and Alison Brooking’s cycling kit of choice to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Willesden CC looks to be a head-to-toe ensemble of Tweed! Our club’s 100th anniversary is still a couple of years away, but Saturday’s annual Tweed ride in London was an event not to be missed for our Tweed enthusiasts. They’ve been itching (groan…) to do this ride for years.
The Tweed run is an all-ticket affair that was held last Saturday in central London. It is quite a sight to see as upwards of 700 cyclists gather to do the ride clad in tweed. Not a shred of lycra to be see or a even a whiff of a gel pack. Mark kindly took a couple of photos of the event to share with us.
