In the London Vets 10 at Billington on Wednesday afternoon Brian Moon returned in 26.52 and Ron Purdy 30.06 on a very hot ,but blustery, afternoon. They would have gained the team award if Gill Reynolds had been able to get the time off work to ride!
On Saturday again a third team member was missing when Brian and Ron rode in the South Bucks 25 mile event. Brian finished in 1.08.49 and Ron in 1.15.29 just before the rain came down.
Gill rode in the Crawley Wheelers 10 early on Saturday morning and was the 3rd fastest lady in 24.34. She rode again yesterday in the Alton C.C. 25 miles at Farnham and won the fastest lady award with 1.07.58. Fiona Lawrence also rode and returned in 1.0 9.08. Again the 3rd member of the team did not start!
Vets seems to be hogging the results as Tony Woodford rode in the National Masters Road Race Campionships at Hilling and finished 9th in the over 50’s event .His son Roger rode at Welwyn Track on Friday and won the 10 lap scratch event and finished 3rd in the 10 mile race. Must be in the genes!
Cheers for now Gladys
