Jayne Paine’s Gold Rush at the UCI Masters Track Championships!

Jayne in full flight

Jayne Paine has once again proved that she’s a true magnet for precious metals! Earlier this month, while competing at the UCI Masters Track Championships in Roubaix, she delivered a remarkable performance—collecting an impressive array of medals and making four trips to the winners’ podium.

In total, Jayne returned home with three gold medals and one bronze, and even more impressively, she broke two world records along the way. Not a bad for a few days’ cycling in France!

Her Roubaix campaign began in spectacular fashion when she set a new world record in her qualifying heat for the Women’s 60–64 Individual Pursuit. Later that same day, during her gold-winning final, she shattered her own record again, taking nearly a full second off her earlier time. What a way to start the week!

Over the following three days, Jayne added to her medal haul with gold medals in the Women’s Team Pursuit, followed by the Women’s Team Sprint. In the 500-metre Time Trial, she earned a bronze medal—a result she was especially pleased with, as it’s not her strongest discipline.

This was not only a phenomenal achievement for Jayne but also a fantastic testament to the expert guidance of Willesden CC coach Tony Woodford, who designed and oversaw her training plan for the event. A brilliant team effort all around!
