Ok so this is not strictly about cycling, but it does involve a new sports facility in Willesden.
For the past couple of years the park opposite my house has been a major building site. The results of these labours will be opened later this month in the form of the all new Willesden Sports Centre.
The old running track and swimming pool are replaced with bright shiny new ones. A five-a-side football pitch, Badminton courts and a running tube are additional facilities. Cycling gets the usual cursory sop with a few bike racks, but that’s about it. Still may be we can run a Road Race, Audax, Time Trial or egg and spoon contest from there some time? Only dreaming
